Welcome to K9 Mold Inspections!
We are Janet and Bryan Blade. We started K9 Mold Inspections LLC to help families avoid the challenges we have faced with toxic mold.
In early 2013, we never would have guessed K9 Mold Inspections would be in our future. However, that February, my health started to decline. Over the following 9 years, I was diagnosed with multiple health conditions, including an autoimmune disease, Trigeminal Neuralgia, and Hyperacusis, and experienced nearly 100 symptoms.
During those years, I sought the help of over 30 medical practitioners to understand why my health was deteriorating. Then, in late 2020, I started working with a doctor trained to recognize the symptoms of mold exposure.
She asked, “Is there a chance you are being exposed to mold?”
Bryan and I immediately responded, “No! Our last home had so many water leaks. We repiped our home before moving in and remodeling it 4 years ago!”
Mold didn’t seem like a possibility to us. Bryan didn’t have health issues, my symptoms had started while living in a different home, and there were no signs of mold in our home….yet. Plus, we thought a repipe would protect us.
Ten months later, we discovered Stachybotrys (Black Mold) and Aspergillus had spread throughout one-third of our kitchen due to a cracked drain line. It had been growing behind our cabinets and under our flooring for years.
After 9 years of physical, emotional, and financial stress, we felt lucky to have answers.
One year after remediating our kitchen, we excitedly moved back to my home state – Arkansas.
After the home-buying process, we learned one of the hardest lessons. The mold inspection and testing performed during the buying process had failed us. The inspection missed numerous areas of hidden mold in our home.
Within two weeks of moving into our new home, I gained 10 pounds, and the neurological symptoms came back. I was back to struggling to find the right words when talking. Making simple decisions became difficult again.
Over the following 18 months, we tore our home apart, looking for hidden mold.
As we put our home back together, we learned about mold detection dogs!
It was one of the most costly lessons we had learned. We could have avoided years of prolonged health issues, the financial impact of lost wages, medical expenses, and unnecessary construction expenses.
The urging of a close friend – a friend familiar with our story and our dogs – led us to K9 Mold Inspections.
“You should get Pearl trained to be a mold dog!”
As luck would have it, we had the perfect dog for mold detection……Pearl!
We had been sharing our story with friends, family, and people we met for several years. Many took significant steps to protect their families after hearing our story. We knew sharing our story was helping others. With Pearl’s training, we can help families even more.
We are on a mission to help families get the answers necessary to reclaim their health and the health of their homes.
Over the years, Bryan and I have faced dozens of water-intrusive events, numerous remediation projects, and toxic mold. We have experienced the challenges of insufficient visual inspections and standard testing firsthand.
Combining our personal experience, Pearl’s advanced training, and our training in mold inspections and remediation, we can help you save time and money.
K9 Mold Inspections LLC is an independent mold detection service. There is no conflict of interest when working with us. We have no financial connections to the remediation process.
We would love the opportunity to help you get the answers necessary to reclaim your health and the health of your home.
Janet
